Matthew 26:39

 STILL PREACHIN

Stanley Hamilton

(Matt. 26:39)  " And he went a little further and fell on his face and prayed saying, "O My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but s Thou wilt."

Recently I heard a song, thanking God for unanswered prayer.  He was thankful, after meeting his old girlfriend, that God had not answered his prayer and allowed them to marry. A lot of people think that God didn't answer their prayer, because He didn't do exactly as they requested.  God knows you better than you do, and what you ask may not be what is best for you.  James wrote "because you ask amiss.".  When that occurs, God says, "NO."

Jesus asked His Father 3 times, if He could be saved from crucifixion;  if there wasn't another way?  He knew death was imminent, and did not want to die. Three times He pleaded that He might be spared.  God said,  "NO", and sent His only Son to die in our place.  Such love! A loving God, who makes ALL THINGS work together, for good for His people.......sometimes has to say "NO".  Be glad He does.
