Our God is a Holy God
Our God is a Holy God, whose absolute purity cannot stand evil, of any sort, nor allow it in His presence. He could not even look at His own Son as He bore our sin on the cross. God's holy nature requires everything in His presence to be free of all unrighteousness. All humanity has been polluted by sin and unable to enter his presence. Justice is a part of God's holy character which demands consequence and punishment for acts of evil. Justice for evil acts (sin) warranted death.
LOVE IS THE GREATER PART of God's nature, and there was no way He would be parted from His creation. He loves man too much for that to happen, but He could not let humanity escape justice. The penalty must be paid, therefore every person must die for their sin, and be parted from Him forever!
LOVE INTERVENED! God found a way to free humanity of it's pollution and still be true to His own nature. There would be a death for each person, but There would be a substitute......an animal. For years God accepted the life of an animal in place of a man. but this was something to be done repeatedly and let the man continue in sin without any real consequence to himself. God wanted to have fellowship with His creation, based on returned love. (One does not have to love God when he can just sacrifice an animal for his sin) With wisdom and love, God sent Jesus (BEARING GOD'S OWN BLOOD), to die for the sins of WHOSOEVER wants forgiveness.
LET'S BE CLEAR ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AT THE DEATH OF JESUS. . . . . JESUS SATISFIED GOD'S JUSTICE THAT THE PENALTY OF DEATH BE PAID FOR WHOSOEVER WANTED FORGIVENESS FOR SINS COMMITTED.
Now he was justified in pardoning whosoever he will. (IF we confess our sin, He is faithful and JUSTified to forgive 1 Jn. 1:9) Now, who did He decide would be able to come into his presence? WHOSOEVER wants forgiveness enough to trust in Him and live according to His commandments, (Trust and Obey) Jesus gave man a second chance. IF a man repents and asks forgiveness, he receives it, and with God's divine power God actually forgets the mans sin and will never hold them against him.
UNDERSTAND THIS:
The death of JESUS NEVER BLINDED GOD TO A MAN'S SIN
It satisfied God's justice, enabling Him to excuse from the penalty of sin, and forget it. God forgave and forgot my sin . . . .now am I automatically excused if/when I sin in the future? Can I continue to sin without consequence because God is blinded by Jesus blood? Do I no longer have freewill to change my mind and return to my vomit?
Will God hold me in His hand if I want to return to my fornication? Will I be forced to live forever in a place where I don't like the rules?
CAN I LOSE OR GIVE UP MY SALVATION?
1 Pet. 1:10 suggests we add certain graces TO KEEP FROM FALLING. Jn Rev.2:10, Jesus said " You will suffer trial, but IF (IF, IF) you REMAIN FAITHFUL, you will receive the crown of life. 1 John 3:5 (NLT) "Anyone WHO CONTINUES (they have been there) to live in Him will not sin."
I hate contention, but in light of so much scripture to the contrary, I believe it dangerous to think we can be free to sin, without penalty, because God only sees the blood of Jesus and not the sinner. Remember Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil
